ANT-MAN Movie Reviews

It's been a while since I watched a flick about superhero's. The reason is simple, mostly those flicks clock in over 2 hours and do have a lot of boring moments. Didn't know what to expect from Ant-Man but I gave it a try due Michael Douglas being in it and Corey Stoll who I knew from the stunning series The Strain. But was I surprised when it was over, this was excellent.

There wasn't any part that bored me and the story itself was rather good. Even when the ants came in I thought this is going to suck real hard well it was again excellent. Towards the end there's a fight between good and evil and even that looked great. But what did offer this flick for me that made it great was a bit of humour here and there and of course the excellent performances highlighted by Douglas.

On part of the effects it was one of the best I've seen in a superhero flick. If they only all were made this way.

Storyline

Terminator Genisys Movie Reviews

I'm going to keep this one spoiler free. 

Genysis really does feel like the true 3rd film of the franchise. Arnold is back, and he really carries the weight of this film. He plays a more friendly terminator that ages throughout the film and makes the occasional joke. Emilia Clarke plays a strong Sarah Connor, reminiscent of T2. Jason Clarke plays the antagonist (as you can see in the trailer), but there is a deeper layer to it than what you can see on the surface. Jai Courtny isn't bad either as Kyle Reese. 

The movie is a non-stop action ride, and kept my eyes glued to the screen at all times. There are a lot of terminator on terminator action scenes that are some of the best fight scenes of the franchise. The story takes places primarily in three different times, but its not too hard to follow if you pay attention. (even though some critics panned this aspect, it really isn't hard to get). There are plot twists that aren't in the trailers, so don't think they've spoiled everything for you. 

Bottom line: If you liked the first two movies, you will like this one. 

AND stay after the credits for a special scene.

User Reviews of This Movie

Jumping right in to the action, this is one heck of a thrill ride only slowing the pace for a few moments to give a little back story to several characters that have not had their own film, and the new characters. I enjoyed the fight scenes immensely, with one in particular that had me grinning like the Cheshire cat.

Fans of the Marvel movies will already know what to expect from Thor, Iron man and Captain America, and the real delight for me came from the new arrivals, especially Paul Bettany as Vision.

The Real highlight for me was the villain Ultron. The way he looks and moves combined with the amazing voice from James Spader gives Ultron real screen presence and a great sense of menace that sets it apart from other robots in film.

The only thing I would have changed in this movie was to give Anthony Mackie a bigger part in it because i really enjoyed his performance in Captain America: the Wintrr Soldier, and was disappointed not to have him alongside Chris Evans again where he seemed to fit perfectly in his previous appearance. Vastly enjoyable film for all except the art crowd.

Sad film indeed.

Helen Keller — 'I cried because I had no shoes until I met a man who had no feet' First lesson learnt – Never ever crib or be depressed for whatever reason – there is so much more pain in this world! Here, in our world, normal or so called able humans are committing suicide because of relationship failures or money matters – and here we see that a girl – born to a well-to-do family of course, tries to live her life…by leaning things from the ways of the world! The easy access to porn world available to children and youths Film also shows the ease with which the youth and even children have access to porn cinema , images and web sites! Environment makes a man after all…so in spite of being talented – like having the ability to do creative writing, compose music etc. she (the disabled kalki in the film) was more keen on downloading porn sites and fantasize things plus masturbate as well – she took the risk of masturbating while being in the same room as her younger brother! Poor her..and her brother…and her mother..and her father! Better not interfere in anybody's sexual preferences The movie also subtly conveys to the world that human beings can take to bisexuality, trisexuality or even multisexuality…or even decide to remain unisexual all their lives – it should not be anyone's bloody business to interfere in anybody's sexual preferences! But since this is India and Indian parents are very concerned about their children and are doubly concerned about what is being sown on their gullible minds…the producer and the director had to be extra careful before delivering this message openly – so they made use of a cerebral palsy patient – who basically will awaken this understanding in us that nobody has the right to interfere in anybody's sexual preferences! Wow! So basically paedophiles can have a good time now and the cops will not have to persecute any peadophile …. as we, the people, will awaken to this great understanding of human nature (esp. sexual nature) ! Similarly, even rapists should go scot free – because it is the preference of a rapist to forcibly land on Thailand….(thigh land – poor joke)! The Indian film makers could not have conveyed this great message by some 'supposedly' normal citizen…else we, the Indians, would have probably throttled them! Probable Repercussions in India: We are already aware of the atrocities that go on in asylums or in clinics/ homes where physically disabled children and adults live – like their parents or relatives arrange to keep them in an environment where similar people live and they can befriend each other and spend time.

I have read in many magazines as to how the poor girls & boys (mentally challenged, genetically handicapped etc.) are molested/ raped by the care-takers themselves (some care takers not all of course)! After watching such a film, those corrupt people will increase their atrocities…..since the film showed how desperate such people can be to experience sex! Anyway, sad film, very sad indeed!

Detective Byomkesh Bakshy Movie Reviews

This was a highly anticipated movie for me. Expectations built up when the trailer was out. Went to the first show and was so happy that the movie is just what i was expecting - A good mystery detective flick with little bit comedy, little bit action and lots of thrill and awesome scenes. Really this is something new for Indian audiences. Dibakar Banerjee has done a great job in recreation of 1942 Culcutta. Back ground music is simply fantastic. These kind of movies are very rare in Bollywood and hence it was an awesome experience. Expect that this will be a big commercial success. A sequel is expected and hope it will come soon. Go for it if you like suspense and dark comedy.
